Community Music School welcomes resumes and letters of interest from qualified teachers seeking employment for teaching hours during afternoon, evening and Saturdays. CMS employs fully credentialed and experienced teachers. Successful candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in applied music, pedagogy or music education from an accredited institution with a major in the instrument they seek to teach. CMS generally gives preference to candidates with advanced degrees and specific studio teaching experience. CMS requires faculty and staff to obtain background checks and clearances.

Music Therapist
CMS is looking for a creative and compassionate part-time music therapist to provide services in-person and online, for both individuals and groups. The ideal candidate will be available to see clients during after school hours on weekdays and/or on Saturdays.
Responsibilities and requirements include:
- Develop treatment goals and objectives with the individuals and/or groups that are age and developmentally appropriate
- Conduct group and/or individual music therapy sessions and adaptive lessons on a weekly basis
- Develop and utilize appropriate accommodations and adaptations to meet clients’ needs
- Maintain effective, timely communication with CMS administrators and accurate records
- Be creative and flexible to adapt to client and program needs
Required Education:
- Master’s degree in music therapy preferred. Bachelor’s degree in music therapy will be considered with comparable experience.
Required Credentials:
- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
Bassoon Instructor – CMS is looking for an experienced teaching artist, comfortable teaching beginner through advanced students, school-age through adults. Must be available for lessons on one to two weekdays 3-9pm and/or Saturdays 9am-3pm.
Clarinet Instructor – CMS is looking for an experienced teaching artist, comfortable teaching beginner through advanced students, school-age through adults. Must be available for lessons on one to two weekday afternoon & evenings and/or Saturdays.
Oboe Instructor – CMS is looking for an experienced teaching artist, comfortable teaching beginner through advanced students, school-age through adults. Must be available for lessons on one to two weekday afternoon & evenings and/or Saturdays.
Piano Instructor – CMS is looking for an experienced teaching artist, comfortable teaching beginner through advanced students, school-age through adults. Must be available for lessons on one to two weekday afternoon & evenings and/or Saturdays.
Violin/Viola Instructor – CMS is looking for an experienced and versatile teaching artist, comfortable teaching beginner through advanced students, school-age through adults. Must be available for lessons on one or more weekdays afternoon and evenings and/or Saturdays 9am-3pm. Suzuki certification preferred.
