Performance is an important aspect of any musician’s life. Throughout the year, there are numerous recitals, concerts and master classes to provide CMS students the opportunity to set goals and develop necessary performance skills. Students are urged to take advantage of these opportunities.
Student Recitals are generally scheduled on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons at CMS in Ingrid Larsen Evans Hall. Student recitals provide an opportunity for students to hone their performance skills in front of an audience of family and friends. Student recitals are free and open to the public. Please check our calendar of events for recital dates and times.
An annual Student Showcase Concert is held at the end of each school year to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of our students over the course of the year.
Master Classes are occasionally presented by renowned guest teachers and clinicians for the benefit of CMS students and faculty. The Master Class provides a valuable learning experience for those students who participate as well as for those who just observe. This year’s Master Classes will feature musicians from our A Little Night Music concert series. These classes are free to CMS students. Area students and teachers are invited to attend as observers for a nominal fee. Please contact CMS for more information 610-489-3676 or info@cmsmusic.org.
The Jr. Board is an advisory committee of Community Music School, comprised entirely of students and alumni below 18 years of age. This committee works to support CMS’s mission, vision, and values from the perspective of the students. The Jr. Board works to organize opportunities for community engagement and service through student performances at local senior centers and community events. To learn more about getting involved with the Jr. Board, please email our Executive Director, Matthew Wright-Conti at Wright-Conti@cmsmusic.org.
