INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
CMS will offer a hybrid model of in-person and virtual individual instrumental and vocal lessons from July 5th through August 13th. Individual lessons are available as well as a discounted package of lessons for all 6 weeks. Please contact our Registrar about scheduling lessons and for information about teacher availability. You can find the summer lesson registration form here. Please reach out to info@cmsmusic.org if you have any questions. Summer scheduling is flexible therefore; students should only sign up for lessons on dates they can attend. No refunds or make-ups will be given for missed summer lessons.

CELLO FESTIVAL CAMP
July 5-9, 2021 9am-12pm
Come join the fun at Cello Camp – In-person & Virtual Options
Cello Festival Camp will be a hybrid learning experience this year, welcoming both in-person and virtual campers! Camp will utilize tented outdoor space and as well as indoor space for in-person students. Virtual campers will tune in to participate with all camp activities on the ZOOM platform. Cello camp offers students an opportunity to have a focused week of individual practice, lessons, technique, master classes, and a final virtual concert on Friday. Students will learn skills in organizing their practice session for effectiveness, developing and enhancing their skills in tone and intonation, and repertoire study.

Camp Activities Include:
- Musicianship – Ear training/sight-reading – it’s like taking your vitamins and eating your vegetables for musicians!
- Etude studies for technique – Popper, Schroeder, Sevick for example – depending on level
- Listening parties – listening and learning together from pre-recorded performances and Masterclasses from great musicians with guided discussion from faculty
- Masterclasses – students play for each other and receive comments from peers and faculty
- Individual lessons – participants will receive at least 1 individual lesson during the course of the week
- Camp Concert – schedule for the final day of camp

VIVACE VIOLINS & VIOLAS CAMP
July 12-16, 2021
Student Ages 8-18
Vivace Violin & Viola Camp will be a hybrid learning experience this year! In-person students will be utilizing tented outdoor space as well as in-door space at CMS. Virtual students will be able to tune in to camp activities and participate from home through the ZOOM platform. The program helps students develop their musical artistry through group classes, masterclasses, and special topic workshops. Suzuki and traditional students are welcome.

PROGRESSIONS JAZZ CAMP
Student Ages 10-18
A fun, week-long, interactive, summer
day-camp program that encourages
enthusiastic young musicians to
explore and expand their interests in
music through pop, rock, jazz, blues,
funk and more. All instruments are
welcome. Students will develop their
“chops” through participation in a
small combo, as well as the big band,
comprised of all camp participants.
Other activities include workshops on the
history of jazz and rock, technical study,
chart-reading and composition.
Camp free-time can be spent playing
games outdoors or indoors, reading or
even … practicing!
We will utilizing tented outdoor space during camp to keep campers and faculty safe during camp!

Skill Requirements for Progressions Jazz Camp
- All instruments welcome – brass, wind, percussion, piano, guitar, bass & other strings
- Students must have a minimum of
two years playing experience on their
instrument(s).

PIANO CAMP
August 2-6, 2021
Piano Camp will be a hybrid learning experience this year! In-person campers will be on-site at CMS and virtual campers will tune into camp sessions on the ZOOM platform. Depending on age and level, students will be working on solo repertoire to be performed in a collaborative story-telling performance or learning and performing piano concertos with faculty accompaniment. Students should have completed Level 2 in the Faber & Faber, Alfred, or John Thompson method books, or their equivalent (Aaron method book Level 1 is also acceptable). Students will have an opportunity for collaborative music-making and social interaction with other piano students of similar skill and ages.
